AI Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Last updated: 1 May 2026
The single most important point: all AI-generated outputs from Rob Reliability are drafts. They must be reviewed and approved by a qualified reliability or maintenance engineer before any operational use. We do not certify equipment. We do not replace your engineering judgment. We do not act as an authority having jurisdiction. The decision — and the responsibility — for any action taken on the basis of our outputs remains entirely with you.
1. Nature of AI outputs
Rob Reliability uses Large Language Models (LLMs), retrieval systems, statistical analyses, and reliability-engineering knowledge bases to generate deliverables such as PMI documents, FMECA tables, RCA reports, Weibull analyses, bad-actor lists, and similar artefacts.
You should be aware that:
- AI systems can produce plausible-sounding but incorrect, incomplete or misleading content ("hallucinations").
- Statistical methods rely on the quality and completeness of the input data; garbage in, garbage out.
- OEM specifications, codes and regulations evolve; AI training data may be out of date.
- No automated system can fully understand the operating context, safety culture and on-the-ground reality of your specific site.
2. Mandatory engineering review
Every output Rob Reliability delivers is reviewed by a senior reliability engineer at Rob Reliability before handover. This is a quality step — not a substitute for review by your own qualified personnel.
You commit to:
- Have every deliverable reviewed and validated by a qualified reliability or maintenance engineer on your side before any use.
- Treat AI outputs as drafts requiring engineering judgment, not as ready-to-execute instructions.
- Apply your internal management-of-change (MOC) process before deploying any output that modifies plant operation, maintenance procedures, alarm settings, or safety functions.
- Verify that every output complies with the applicable industry codes, standards and local regulations (including but not limited to ISO 14224, IEC 60812, API, ASME, OSHA, ATEX, IECEx, GDPR).
3. What our deliverables are NOT
To be unambiguous, Rob Reliability deliverables are not:
- Engineering certifications, signatures or stamps from a chartered engineer.
- Approvals from any authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Substitutes for OEM authorised procedures.
- Substitutes for site safety reviews, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL studies or formal management-of-change processes.
- Legal, regulatory, financial or insurance advice.
- Predictions of asset failure with guaranteed accuracy.
4. Safety-critical exclusion
Rob Reliability's outputs shall not be used as the sole basis for any safety-critical decision, including but not limited to:
- Disabling or modifying safety instrumented systems (SIS), trips, or interlocks.
- Extending overhaul or inspection intervals on safety-critical equipment beyond what regulations or OEM allow.
- Authorising work near process hazards without a documented site-specific risk assessment.
- Operating equipment outside its design envelope.
Such decisions remain the exclusive responsibility of the Client and its qualified personnel, in accordance with applicable regulations.
5. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rob Reliability provides its Services and outputs "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that outputs will be error-free, free from hallucinations, or suitable for your specific operational context.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rob Reliability shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the use of its Services or outputs, including but not limited to: loss of production, lost profits, business interruption, equipment damage, environmental release, personal injury, regulatory fines, loss of data, reputational harm.
Any aggregate liability shall be capped per the limitation set out in the Terms of Service.
7. Your acknowledgement
By engaging with Rob Reliability or using any output, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted this Disclaimer; that you understand the inherent limitations of AI-generated content; and that you accept full responsibility for the validation, approval and operational use of any deliverable provided by Rob Reliability.
